Cloud Resume Challenge (in progress)

The Cloud Resume Challenge is a program designed by Forrest Brazeal to provide a framework for building cloud based hands-on skills by building a resume in the cloud. While simple in concept, this project touches many cloud technologies while allowing the user to dig in and learn without being a step-by-step guide.

• Designed an HTML/CSS resume that is hosted in an AWS S3 bucket using CloudFront and Certificate Manager to provide HTTPS security.
• Wrote a Python Lambda function to update a DynamoDB table with a running count of visitors to the website.
• Integrated the front-end and back-end components by updating the HTML and creating an API Gateway to reach the Lambda function.
• Automated the creation of the entire infrastructure using IaC, specifically Terraform.
• Build a CI/CD pipeline using GitHub actions (in progress).

Acquire Certifications

Participated in self-study projects to gain cloud certifications. This process involved performing hands-on labs, reviewing training videos, and digging into cloud documentation. Achieved certifications in AWS (CCP, SAA, AI), Azure (AI), and GCP. The complete list of certifications achieved is listed here.

Principal Consultant

Served as developer, SME, and administrator providing technical consulting by creating unique solutions around a mobile application to meet customer’s changing requirements. This FDA solution supports over 2000 remote investigators in an occasionally connected environment.

• Designed, developed and implemented an SAP Afaria solution through a full life cycle. This solution customized and implemented a personalized SQL Anywhere based mobile application.
• Co-developed and maintained automated processes using PowerShell to use data dynamically pulled from Oracle to implement user specific settings in SQL Anywhere remote databases.
• Developed software and hardware solutions around containerization and PIV card readers to address customer data security requirements related to FIPS 140-2 encryption and HSPD-12 security concerns.
• Established and maintained key relationships with help desk, networking, and SCCM personnel to ensure clear and transparent communications and to facilitate prompt issue resolution.
• Developed a solution for never connected international users to enable pre and post processing of data in a secure disconnected manner.
• Documented troubleshooting processes and trained Tier 1-3 help desk support personnel ensuring field inspector issues were promptly and accurately resolved. Acted as an advisor and escalation point.
• Executed seamless migrations of SAP Afaria servers in multiple environments from v6.0 to v7.0, multiple OS upgrades, and database changes ensuring all platforms were running the latest supported versions.
• Authored yearly RFP responses that resulted in 11 years or contract awards.
• Created a process to monitor and force upgrades on the mobile application based on version or database version. This ensured investigators had a current and supported version in the field.
• Designed a regression capability into the environment to allow the Testing Group to work with any of 5 different versions of the application.
• Trusted technical advisor on all aspects of the project from security concerns to application design and issue resolution. Often used SAP Afaria to assist in providing visibility to process or procedure issues.

Senior Consultant

Served as technical consultant around the design and implementation of mobile solutions.

• Successfully recovered a locked SAP Afaria environment for a government customer (Lawrence Livermore Labs) whose admin had passed away. All work was completed remotely, after hours, and under budget.
• Developed a proof of concept demonstrating secure integration of SAP Agentry using SAP Afaria. The mobile device, using this solution, was approved for use in the intelligence community.
• Developed a CAC-enabled web-based time entry program for SAP ERP, learning HTML5 and VBScript, from scratch, in one month. Awarded project funding from the US Navy.

With two-weeks transition, took over support for SAP Afaria implementation supporting Window based laptops for data collections for the Census Bureau.

• Achieved 100% data retrieval during critical collection period maintaining 100% up time for Census with over 6000 clients.
• Performed daily system tests and reviewed all logs in order to pro-actively resolve any potential issues.

Technical Sales Consultant

Served as technical pre-sales resource for channel sales of a document imaging solution. Delivered a full range of pre-sales support from trade shows to delivering custom software solutions. Used a consultative discovery technique to assess and determine each customer’s needs. Delivered product demonstrations and installed proof of concept installations for large strategic customers.

• Developed several customized integrations using VBScript and an email simulation connector in C++. The simulation connector was used by all technical partners across the country.
• Contributed to achievement of 100% of sales quota for Regional Sales Managers in every year.
• Played key role in growth of new Toshiba sales channel to $2 million in revenue in 2nd year by performing both technical and sales roles for 66% of the continental US.
